It seems everyone in the NFL has an opinion on Tim Tebow, including New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who recently gave his opinions on the Denver Broncos quarterback during an interview on the Jim Rome nationally syndicated sports talk show.
These days, everyone is talking Tebow, although not all of the comments are positive. Just last week, after watching the Denver Broncos quarterback lead a dramatic fourth-quarter victory against his team, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher called Tebow a "good running back" in an obvious attempt to criticize the player’s quarterbacking talents.
Apparently, Drew Brees has a different opinion. When asked to give his perspective on Tebow, Brees had only positive things to say.
"I think Tim Tebow stands for a lot of great things," Brees said. "I think he stands for leadership and inspiration and, you know, tireless work ethic and faith and belief. And those are all things that, as a young athlete, you would like to instill."
According to Brees, although Tebow has faced criticism, he's had a big hand in helping the Broncos turn their season around.
"You look at the way he's helped his team win; I mean it's definitely been a team effort, but certainly he's come through in the clutch many times this year. That's exciting to watch."
Brees said although the Broncos lost to a tough New England Patriots team on Sunday, he thinks they are still very much in the playoff hunt and says he's behind Tebow.
"It's easy to cheer for a guy like that," Brees said. "I think it's good for football."
