You can paint ceramic tile if you’ve abraded it to promote adhesion. Because ceramic is slick and waterproof, you must sand it until it feels slightly coarse to your fingertips. Once it does, add a coat of acrylic primer. Once the primer is dry, add the appropriate type of paint based on the location and function of the tile.

• Use epoxy or acrylic enamel on ceramic shower tile.
