How to Patina Metal

Only certain types of metal truly patina; however, you can encourage a similar appearance by intentionally encouraging oxidation. Rust occurs when metallic objects are exposed to water and air. Unfortunately, it can take a while. To speed things up, you’ll need to add an etching solution and salt water. This is potentially dangerous.
